However, as a ten-year old, Mr. McQueen would watch television and learned about the energy crisis at that time. He remembers thinking that if he could solve this problem, he would become rich and famous, but more importantly he could help countless other people. During his high school science class, his teacher made the comment "that if someone could build a perpetual motion machine, they could solve the energy crisis." Motivated by those comments, McQueen conceived an idea for his energy-generating machine. Despite setbacks and discouraging remarks that the idea would not work, he continued to work on the machine.
